Q: What is happening?

A: Portalbuzz’s last day is February 29, 2024. This means clubs will no longer be able to access services provided by Portalbuzz and websites managed by Portalbuzz will no longer be accessible beginning March 1, 2024.

Q: Why is Portalbuzz closing?

A: We have loved working with service clubs for almost 20 years, but as technology and the industry has changed, it is time for Portalbuzz to retire and connect our clubs to solutions that will be a long-term fit for your needs.

Q: What will happen to my website?

A: Websites published by Portalbuzz will not be accessible after February 29, 2024. You will need to relocate your website content and hosting to a new provider prior to this to avoid a disruption in access to your website.

Q: Will I continue to be billed for Portalbuzz?

A: Portalbuzz will discontinue any new billing on December 31, 2023, but clubs will continue to have access through February 29, 2024. If you decide to move from Portalbuzz prior to this date, you are able to cancel your subscription at any time.

Q: Will customer support still be available?

A: Yes, our support team will continue to be available through February 29, 2024 to answer your Portalbuzz questions.

What Do I Need to Do?

To transition to a new system, there are a few key actions you may want to consider:

  • If you use Portalbuzz for your website, you will want to select a new website provider and build your site prior to February 29, 2024.

  • If you use Portalbuzz to track your members and billing, export your member and invoice list so you can keep the records and input them into the membership billing system you select.

Note: If you are part of Kiwanis International, your club should receive communication from headquarters regarding additional available support and resources.

Q: Is there a recommended alternative to Portalbuzz?

A: The needs for an alternative will vary by club, but here are some options to consider:

  • MemberDay.com: A new service from Scott Smith, the original creator of Portalbuzz

  • ClubRunner.ca: This is a similar service that has been popular with service clubs that has similar features and pricing

  • Kiwanis: For Kiwanis clubs specifically, Kiwanis International offers some solutions for website builders and membership tracking

  • Aplos: For organizations that want a basic website builder, group portal, and CRM, along with accounting and donation tracking

Q: Do I need to request a refund?

A: If you have prepaid for an annual subscription that extends beyond February 29, 2024, we will be issuing prorated refunds to the payment method on file prior to December 31, 2023. Administrators that are eligible for a refund will be contacted by email with a link to a form to confirm contact information.
